I love the joke! and I do not really think he has an alternate / feel bad. I think it was just a cute joke he found somewhere on the Internet. Now the real problem was the thing of nursing. which has not been a very positive thing for him to say, so maybe you should talk him .. but chances are you would not have been upset by the joke otherwise.
